Choose Your Own Adventure: eBooks and eReaders in Libraries

Join us for a day of learning about the joys and woes of eBooks and eReaders in libraries! Our keynote presenter will be Bobbi Newman (librarianbyday.net) speaking on "Choose Your Own Adventure: the Future of eBooks and Libraries." Lindsey Levinsohn from OverDrive will be talking about the past, present, and future role that eBooks play in public, school, and academic libraries from a vendor's point of view. She will also discuss content trends, device compatibility, and eBook perceptions from users, consumers, publishers, and librarians. Other speakers will address legal issues related to eReaders and the practical side of helping patrons to download eBooks to a variety of eReaders. During the breaks, Kathy Petlewski of Plymouth District Library will host "Petlewski's Petting Zoo" where attendees will have the opportunity for hands-on practice on a variety of eReaders (iPad, Kindle, Nook, Nook Color, Kobo, and Sony).
