IAAP President

Thomas to Lead IAAP in 2009-10

  MLC congratulates staff member, Heather Thomas, on her election as the Michigan Division President for the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) for FY09-10. Beginning July 1, her duties will include attending and giving presentations at meetings throughout the state and representing Michigan as the division delegate at the International Education Forum and Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. She will also preside over the business of the division (consisting of 17 local chapters and approximately 700 members) at several meetings including the Division Annual Meeting in May 2010 in Bay City.

Heather has been a member of IAAP since November 1999 and has served in many roles for her local chapter (Lansing Tuebor) including webmaster, newsletter editor, Vice President, and President (earning the Distinguished Chapter President award two years in a row). She has also served roles in the division including Communications Secretary and President-Elect.

IAAP is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. Their mission is to enhance the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership development.
