February News

Final issue of News@MLC is available online

The February 2010 issue of News@MLC is now available online.  This will be the final issue of News@MLC.  Our newsletter will become "MCLS News" starting with the March 2010 issue.

February marks an end of an era for MLC. Today the groundhog saw its shadow, promising us six more weeks of winter before the rebirth of spring. MLC's time is much shorter -- only two more weeks before MLC ends and is reborn as the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS)! We'll bid farewell to MLC on February 12 and will welcome MCLS on February 15.

MLC began as an OCLC Network at Wayne State University in 1974. Over the years, we have expanded our services to member libraries to include a full range of training and special programs, group subscriptions and purchasing, cataloging services, resource sharing partnerships, statewide projects, and a shared integrated library system. MLC has developed into a trusted partner for member libraries as they cope with the ever-increasing flow of information and escalating expectations from their patrons. Our mission to serve our member libraries will continue in our new incarnation as MCLS.

We look forward to working with our Michigan and Indiana member libraries as MCLS!
